# Batch Control (Dastions)

> Batch Control is a web-based recipe formulation and batch weighing (dosing) software developed and sold by Dastions (Digital Application Solutions SL, Spain). It connects industrial scales to a web application that guides operators through every weighing and records each one for full traceability. Spanish: software de formulación y dosificación por pesaje.

## What it does

- Managers define products (raw materials with target weight and tolerance), formulas split into weighing cycles with versioned revisions (draft → published → archived), and production batches.
- Operators weigh each cycle on a connected scale from a guided tablet screen: current cycle, target ± tolerance, and an in-range indicator (green / yellow / red with text). Out-of-range weights cannot be accepted.
- Baskets are identified by QR code; a basket can go through cycles on different scales with the accumulated weight.
- Every accepted weighing stores batch, formula revision, cycle, basket, operator, scale, gross, tare, net and timestamp. Batch reports and CSV export.
- Real-time production dashboard (active batches, cycles and kilograms weighed today, activity per hour, scale and operator, items needing attention).
- Formula/scale compatibility checks (capacity and scale division) with recorded risk acceptance.
- Security: no public sign-up, separate manager and operator roles, operator PIN on authorized devices, encrypted (WSS) scale connection with a per-scale token.

## Scales

Scales connect through dtmi4-socket, a local Dastions service (Docker on Revolution Pi or a Windows PC) that reads the weight over serial (RS-232 / USB) or TCP/IP. Tested with Dini Argeo indicators; adaptable to other scales with a text command protocol.
